I'm Beautiful and So Are You

Please, if you happen to come across my video all I can ask is that you share it. I really want to get this around and try to encourage as many people as I can.

We made instruments in New Works and had to compose our own piece of music with a group. My instrument looked stupid, so I took a picture of Madi playing her bass.

Making a Living

I've noticed a lot of Booker T. students talking about how they don't feel that their parents understand what the do or why they do it. I know that a lot of times art isn't viewed as a real profession and people tend to take what we do for granted or don't realize how much hard work it is. My friend's dad told me that "it's especially hard to make a living as an artist because when you're a doctor or a lawyer you go to school, get a degree, and get hired. Being an artist is different because you can still go to school, get a degree, and people feel like you need to prove something to them." To all of you who feel that nobody gets that you want to make a living out of your art, this is for you. I found this picture on the internet and the artist encourages it to be passed around.

For the first time in my life I feel like I have friends. Before I came to Booker T. people talked to me but they never wanted to do things with me or see me after school at all. I know that I can't ever leave this school because there are people here who come up to my desk before class to talk to me about something that doesn't concern copying my homework. I can't think of one person at this school that I'm not completely in love with.

film review

Shhh It's a Secret
The dancing was great and the music was amazing, but  felt like the narration that was dubbed over took too much away from the entirety of the film. Bryce did a fantastic job of interpreting the feel of the music.
Ocean Rock Flip Book
That was so cool. I loved the idea of using a flip book; it was extremely original. However, I would have tried to keep the quote up longer and incorporate a smoother transition between the flip book and the filming.
The Void
I haven't even seen all of the movies and I already know that this is my favorite. The only complaint I had was that the bass was too loud and overpowering and that the music ended very abruptly.
Even though I was in this group, I have to say that I'm a little embarrassed to have made this movie at first. Then, as the film progressed I was kind of like "Ohhh....I get it now." I didn't do the editing or the filming for the better half but I'm very, very proud of the rest of our group. I think that the part with us talking was a good idea, but never really materialized.
 Cherry Bomb
I thought it was very funny and used a lot of different movement. I had a problem with how it transitioned in the beginning as well as the blooper at the end. I don't feel that putting a blooper at the end is the best idea for a flowing video.
Crazy Hair
I feel like this video had really good music and no plan other than that. I can't say a lot more other than that because  just didn't understand it... Although Sam was amazing.
Motion Hands
The music is overpowering and doesn't make any sense to me. There are hands playing a piano which is cool and a neat idea if it were to have been approached differently.
